Bridal Day Trials: Say ‘I Do’ to a Fabulous Bridal Hair & Makeup Trial by Following These Tips

It’s the day you’ve been dreaming about all your life. Everyone’s eyes will be on you. You want and need for everything to be just perfect. Well, no pressure then!

Just kidding. We certainly hope you don’t feel stressed about getting your bridal hair and makeup done (congratulations by the way on your engagement—what an exciting for you and your groom-to-be!).

Whether you are experiencing any sort of trepidation over your pre-wedding plans (and we hope that’s not the case) or you’ll still on cloud nine in sheer bliss over the proposal and that beautiful shimmering rock on your left hand, follow Paul Conzo’s tips below for making sure that you get the hair and makeup you want and deserve for your wedding day—one of the most special, romantic and magical days of your life.

Paul Conzo Day Spa and Hair Salon has helped so many brides achieve the look they’ve dreamed of for their wedding days, and we know from our experience that fabulous wedding day hair and makeup begins with a good trial. But, before you step in for your trial, we actually have a bit of bridal homework we want you to consider. “Homework?!” you grasp. Why yes, but trust us; it will all be worth it.

Ask yourself: How do I want to look on my wedding day? Glamorous, sophisticated, ethereal and drop-dead gorgeous. Why all of the above, you may say! And that’s great. But, we’re guessing your everyday look and routine may play a role in the ultimate look for your big day. If your everyday makeup showcases your adventurous side and you’re known to don vivacious red lips and a smoky eye to the grocery store, you may want your wedding day look to build off that norm. Same goes for if you sport a more natural look, with nude lips and light blush, for instance. The bottom line: this is your big day and your makeup should make you feel just as beautiful as you will look. The key is to make sure that your look appears effortless whether it’s a dramatic diversion from your everyday look or a subtle enhancement of your daily routine—naturally!

Let us see your dress and accessories. If you’re thinking about your bridal trial, we’re assuming that you’ve already picked out the gorgeous dress you’ll be walking down the aisle in, as well as your accessories—which is great news for us! That’s because we want to make sure that your wedding day hair and makeup compliment the dress, the accessories, and most importantly, your personality and your style! It’s a great idea to have one of your bridemaids take a picture of you in your dress, so you can show it to the hair stylist and the makeup artist so they get a good sense of how they can use their expertise to enhance your overall bridal look.

Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery; it’s also a great way to communicate the look you want to your hair stylist and your makeup artist. Scour those bridal magazines and any fashion magazines that capture the look you’re going for. Maybe you just adore one set of smoky eyes on a blushing bride or you’re enamored by a nude lip paired with a particular classic up-do, chignon or half-up hairstyle you saw recently. Set aside any photos that speak to you, so you can tell—and show us—what looks you’re considering.

Treat your skin and your hair kindly. Having a good pre-wedding, skin- and hair-care routine is key. We know you want to look as flawless as you can for the big day, and that means getting enough sleep, staying hydrated, moisturizing your skin and getting those facials, haircuts and hair color as needed.

Properly maintaining your hair and skin in the months prior to your wedding will help alleviate stress as the big day approaches because you’ll have peace of mind in knowing that you’ve done everything you could to maintain beautiful skin and hair, which will serve you well at your bridal trial and on your wedding day.

Enlist your BFF to sit in on the bridal trial with you. Once your bridal trial hair and makeup are completed, it’s great to get a second opinion from your best friend, your mom or your sister, who we are sure each has your back and knows you better than anyone else! They will after all give you their honest opinions, and that why we love them so much.

Also, be sure that they remember their camera so they can photograph you in full hair and makeup—and put them to work by taking notes on what colors you and your makeup artist have settled on.

Congrats again on becoming a bride! Go ahead and book your bridal trial with Paul Conzo today. We look forward to seeing how you did at completing the homework assignments outlined above. Trust us, if you follow these simple (and downright fun) steps you’ll be able to sit back and relax so we can give you the hair and makeup you deserve for the big day!
